Samuel Beckett


He was born in Ireland in 13th April 1906, belong to the medium class
His Father, William Beckett Junior worked as a Surveyor, and his mother, Marie Roux worked as a nurse
Educated in Portora Royal School, where was superior in Mathematics and languages, after that he joined the Faculty of Trinity in 1927, was specialized in French and Italian
His infancy was known as depression & loneliness, He pointed to that in saying I had little talent for happiness
Beckett worked as a teacher for a few months before he joined to House teachers in 1928
When Beckett moved to Paris he met the famous Irish writer James Joyce, to become a then apostle of the older writer especially after he wrote a defensive article which it called Joyce Literary masterpieces, when the public demands that the writings of James to be much easier to understand
He received a master's degree in French language in 1931, to become a teacher in Trinity College until 1932, then he announced that his inability to manage to the routine, described it in time cancer, so he resigned and devoted his life to write
After the death of his father, he received an annual salary and through it he was able to undergo psychotherapy in a psychiatric clinics in London which called Tafestuk, in an attempt to find the explanation for his depression
The first experience of poetry was in 1930 which called Horoscob it was consisting of 98 verses
In 1931 he published a collection of essays in his book Prost
in 1938 was the issuance of the first novel which called Murphy
After the outbreak of World War II, he wrote the second novel Watt which published in 1953, and it was the Latest novel written in English
Then he followed by his French tripartite Molloy, Malone Dies, the Unnamable was published in early fifties, which translated to English after he added some substantive changes
These novels reflect that he embrace the philosophy of Descartes
He started the actual fame after released the famous play Waiting for Godot in 1952 in French
then he translated it to English after 2 years
This achieved a great success after the presentation to the French stage which called Papillon
Then he wrote his masterpiece the end of the game in 1957
In the sixties Beckett wrote the last novel it named How it is
In 1969 he was awarded the Nobel Prize in literature
The last poem he wrote was in 1989 it named What is the word, and then he died in 23rd Dec.1989
